The Tweet edit button does not come without its restrictions, though, as an unrestricted edit button could lead to miscommunications and misinformation on the platform. The restrictions include a 30-minute window where a Tweet can be edited from the time it is posted, and the fact that any edited Tweet will feature an ‘Edited’ logo, as well as an updated timestamp for when the edits occurred. If the ‘Edited’ label is clicked, users will be able to see previous versions of the post, preventing users from platforming content that they do not agree with.
