Secure Mobile Browsers : firefox total cookie protection

[ad_1]

Mozilla, the maker of the Firefox browser, has announced that it is bringing its Total Cookie Protection feature to Firefox for Android. This feature aims to enhance user privacy by preventing cross-site tracking through cookies.

Cookies are small pieces of data that websites store on your device to remember your preferences and activity. However, some cookies can also be used by third-party companies to track your browsing behavior across different websites and show you targeted ads.

Total Cookie Protection prevents this by creating a separate cookie jar for each website you visit. This way, cookies cannot be shared or accessed by other websites unless the user explicitly allows them. This feature is part of Mozilla’s Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) setting, which also blocks other types of trackers and malware.

To enable Total Cookie Protection on Firefox for Android, you need to use the Strict or Custom ETP settings instead of the Standard one. You can also sync this protection across all your devices by logging into your Mozilla account. Additionally, Mozilla has made it easier to mask your email address using Firefox Relay on its desktop browser.

With these features, Mozilla hopes to provide users with more control over their online privacy and security.
