LinkedIn, the professional networking platform, is currently testing a new feature that introduces a TikTok-like feed for short-form vertical videos. The feature is designed to allow users to scroll through bite-sized videos in a manner similar to the popular video-sharing app TikTok, as well as other platforms like YouTube Shorts and Facebook and Instagram Reels. The content for this new video feed will be accessible via a dedicated ‘Video’ tab within the LinkedIn app, where users can interact with the videos by liking, commenting, or sharing them.
The move to integrate a short-form video feed is seen as an effort by LinkedIn to appeal to a younger demographic and to stay relevant amidst the changing social media landscape. Previously, LinkedIn had experimented with a Stories feature, which was discontinued in August 2021. The company indicated at the time that it was looking to evolve the Stories format into a more engaging and conversational video experience.
