The ‘BeScene’ app has been launched as a social networking tool for filmmakers and creatives alike to use as a way to get move involved with one another in the industry. The app takes a swiping interface approach that aims to break down the existing barriers that can existed for those just getting started in the industry. The app is thus targeted towards low-budget, student and even up-and-coming filmmakers who might otherwise find it difficult to network with industry insiders.
Founder and CEO commented on the ‘BeScene’ app to TechCrunch saying, “Our goal is to democratize ‘breaking into the industry’ by providing access to those who wouldn’t normally have it. In 2024, no one should be excluded from their dreams because they didn’t go to a fancy film school or live in LA or NYC. This app is something that can remove barriers to entry that have been strategically placed by old school Hollywood.”
