A Bolder Vision for Cadillac’s Luxe Sport Sedan

After getting an advance look at the 2025 Cadillac CT5 at the North American International Detroit Auto Show, I’m pleased to confirm that with the sedan’s upcoming mid-2024 release, Cadillac continues to redefine American luxury in a bolder, sleeker enhancement of the previous CT5 model. Cadillac built its reputation by building great luxury sedans, so it’s encouraging — heartwarming, actually — to see the legendary brand recommit to improving and advancing this gem of a modern sport sedan in a market that seemingly can’t get enough of boxy SUVs.

“CT5’s importance in Cadillac’s portfolio cannot be overstated,” said John Roth, vice president, of Global Cadillac. “Globally, CT5 is having its best sales year, ever. The 2025 CT5 stays true to what customers love about this vehicle, while bringing a revised look and the latest technology and safety features.”

The 2025 CT5 features a revised front fascia, and offers more standard comfort, safety and technology features, while also incorporating the brand’s 33-inch-diagonal LED color touchscreen display.

The bolder front-end design of the 2025 CT5 complements its fastback profile. Updates include a lower and wider front grille with redesigned Cadillac signature vertical lighting and stacked LED headlamps. The CT5 Sport trim features a performance black mesh grille and black surrounds. Additional new features include: standard Blind Zone Steering Assist, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Driver Attention Assist, Google built-in compatibility, and various new options including 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Traffic Sign Recognition and Intelligent Speed Assist, and two new exterior colors: Deep Space Metallic and Typhoon Metallic.

The CT5’s new 33-inch-diagonal LED color touchscreen display is capable of a stunning 9K resolution and curves toward the driver in a single, continuous screen spanning the driver’s viewing area. The system also incorporates a customizable user interface designed to offer a technology-forward and personalized experience. Says Alex MacDonald, CT5 chief engineer, “The new advanced technologies enhance the driver’s personal connection in a sedan already renowned for its driving spirit, comfort and technology.”

Stay tuned for JustLuxe’s road test report for details on the CT5 driving experience. I’ll compare the 2.0L Turbo engine (237 horsepower) and optional 3.0L Twin-Turbo engine (335 horsepower), see how the new tech, rear-wheel drive dynamics and On Star media option measure up, and if the ride succeeds in delivering a quiet cabin experience that still manages to achieve a strong connection with the road.

Production of the 2025 Cadillac CT5 begins this spring at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly facility in Michigan. Pricing to be announced soon.
