Canada women’s basketball player Laeticia Amihere is declaring for the upcoming WNBA draft.

Amihere, who made the announcement via her Twitter account, played her last four seasons with the University of South Carolina and won a national championship in 2022.

The 21-year-old forward from Mississauga, Ont., averaged 7.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 36 games this season.

South Carolina went undefeated in 36 games from the beginning of the season all the way to the NCAA Final Four, where it was knocked out of the tournament by star guard Caitlin Clark and Iowa.

Amihere has played 46 games for Canada from the under-16 to senior levels. She was part of the Canadian team that finished ninth at the Tokyo Olympics.

She joins South Carolina teammates Aliyah Boston, who’s projected to go No. 1, and Brea Beal in declaring for the WNBA draft set for Monday.
