CARLSBAD
As room rates continue to rise to an all-time high, this springtime the Beach Terrace Inn in Carlsbad’s ‘Village by the Sea’ is hosting a ‘Great Easter Rate Hunt’ on March 31. Each year on Easter Sunday, the boutique oceanfront Beach Terrace Inn in North San Diego releases hundreds of hidden $1 and $99 beachfront rooms for travelers to ‘hunt’ and book on their website.
This intimate 48 room hotel has spacious guest rooms ranging in size up to 700 square feet. Guests can fall asleep listening to the waves outside their door.
A favorite site at the hotel is sitting by the oceanfront Shorebreak Pool and to warm up in the evening by one of the firepits.
These rates hidden in the booking calendar are good for arrivals between April 2024 and December 2024. Â

While in Carlsbad, The Flower Fields are alive in a rainbow of color with 50 acres of blossoming Ranunculus flowers. This spectacular super bloom consists of more than 200,000 ranunculus plants per acre. Each plant averages 10 blooms or 2 million blooms per acre. The farmers say at the field’s floral peak, there are close to 80 million flowers in bloom.
Enjoy ‘Picnics + Flowers’ and ‘Tea in the Garden’. Tickets must be purchased online for the upcoming Easter Weekend events, and other enrichment programs until Mother’s Day weekend.

HUNTINGTON BEACH
Known as ‘Surf City’, this beach town offers a range of luxury and boutique hotels overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Painted in shades of coastal blue, the contemporary-style Paséa Hotel & Spa is hosting an ‘Easter Brunch & Bubbles’ celebration on March 31. Located on the resort’s lawn at a vantage point overlooking the Pacific Ocean, guests will begin a playful day and culinary brunch starting at 10 a.m.
Easter-themed activities include photos with the Easter bunny, live entertainment, and bottomless mimosas for adults to enjoy with extravagant seafood and brunch displays. Start with an assortment of breakfast pastries and breads with coffee and an array of Fresh Pressed juices. Menu highlights include an omelet station, an avocado toast station, a carving station with spring leg of lamb and slow-roasted prime rib and Santa Barbara smoked salmon with onion, capers, tomato, cucumber, parsley, and bagel chips. There is a cheese and charcuterie display, a variety of salads, seasonal fruit and berries, brioche french toast with maple syrup, Piri Piri chicken with couscous, heirloom tomato and cucumber salad.
Desserts include assorted cupcakes, mini panna cotta, mini strawberry shortcakes, warm chocolate chip cookie sundaes, s’mores bars and mini chocolate cakes. The cost of this celebratory brunch is $140 per adult, $65 per child (ages 5-12) and kids under four are free. Reservations are required.

SAN DIEGO
Spend Easter weekend at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina on Harbor Island for a festive Sunday celebration. The newly opened Rumorosa will entertain its inaugural holiday brunch buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Adults will receive a welcome drink, and the Easter Bunny will make an appearance visiting guests and posing for photos.
Highlights of Chef de Cuisine Cesar Oceguera’s Cali-Baja brunch includes mini versions of his signature Concha breakfast sandwich, carved to order Barbacoa leg of lamb, a variety of fresh seafood, and mini desserts. Live music will enhance the atmosphere and dining experience.
Young guests can participate in one of the two Easter egg hunts, starting at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.Â
The cost of this fun-filled day is $85 per adult, and $45 per child, ages 6 to 12. Children under 5 years old dine for free.

BEVERLY HILLS
The five-star luxury The Peninsula Beverly Hills is celebrating Easter Sunday with numerous family-friendly events all day long.
Young guests can start their day with a visit with the Easter Bunny in the lobby, and Easter egg-hunt by the Infinity Fountain. Next families can gather for an elaborate four-course Easter brunch prepared by Michelin-starred Chef Ralf Schlegel. The Belvedere menu features a starter of mini chocolate croissants, pretzel twist and Parker House rolls. A colorful array of spring-themed items, include an avocado and citrus salad, roasted rack of lamb, crab cake benedict and Silver Dollar chocolate chip pancake.
Finish with a choice of three desserts that include a slice of carrot coconut pineapple cake.Â
Seating is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations are required and the cost is $155 for adults and $80 for children.
BOA Steakhouse
MULTI-LOCATIONS
Each of the three So Cal BOA Steakhouses: West Hollywood, Santa Monica and Manhattan Beach are offering an Easter Day Brunch Buffet. On March 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., diners can indulge in breakfast favorites, freshly made salads, a variety of fresh seafood, signature side dishes, desserts and Easter cocktails. Reservations are encouraged for this $95 per person culinary adventure.
